Expanded IET Services in Shields Library
Expanded Services & Facilities for IET Computer Lab in the Shields Library — Coming Soon
Information and Educational Technology (IET) is collaborating with the University Library to improve computer lab access to UC Davis students. At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, the IT Express walk-in service at 182 Shields Library will be closing permanently. The password reset service currently offered only at the IT Express Shields 182 office will be extended to five other IET open-access computer rooms and continue in Shields 182 when it reopens. This fall, 182 Shields Library will reopen as a computer lab. The new lab will include 38 computers (PC and Macintosh) and provide a convenient location in the library for picking up wireless printing. IET will also continue to distribute the free Internet Tools CD from the 182 Shields Library computer room when it re-opens. Room 163 in Shields Library will continue to serve as a computer lab and will have several computers replaced with playback equipment for VHS and DVD formatted titles to support individuals using Shields Library Reserves materials.
IT Express will continue to provide technical support and consulting services to UC Davis students, staff, and faculty through their trained IET service desk staff who are available via phone (754-HELP) and email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Service Desk staff are there to assist with operating systems, email clients, web browsers, SmartSite and various other IT and software applications support. Check http://itexpress.ucdavis.edu/support/ (http://itexpress.ucdavis.edu/support/) for supported products and services.
