Picnic Day 2005: Shields Library Open House
Shields Library Open House
Saturday, April 16
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Picnic Day is the largest student-run event in the United States and is the annual Open House for the University of California, Davis. This hallmark event has been designed to showcase and celebrate the richness of campus life, the diverse achievements of UCD students, staff and faculty to provide a day of education, information and entertainment to all who attend.
This year Shields Library will host a Picnic Day Open House from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Come and enjoy a self-guided tour of the Library, including a viewing of the art deco-styled main Reading Room and extensive art on display. Library volunteers will be present to assist visitors and answer questions.
Special Collections will have an exhibit in the main lobby featuring the Ray Hunold Photograph Collection: Storytellers and Nature Photography. The work of Ray Hunold, a freelance photographer, features images of storytellers in dramatic action and artistic landscape photography sites throughout the United States.
Government Information & Maps will have an exhibit in the main lobby featuring maps of the UC Davis campus covering its history over the last century.
