Campus Community Book Project Display
Peter J. Shields Library Lobby
Fall 2010 - Spring 2011
The University Library Committee on Diversity is pleased to present the 2010/2011 Campus Community Book Project. This year's book is "Why are all the Black kids sitting together in the cafeteria?" And other conversations about race by Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum. As Dr. Tatum emphasizes, it is no accident that two of her published works include "conversations" in the titles. Throughout the year, the campus will be hosting events that facilitate these very important conversations about race.
On exhibit in the Peter J. Shields Library Lobby are a few selections from Dr. Tatum's list of additional resources for further reading and books that reference Dr. Tatum's important scholarship in the area of racial identity development. For additional resources please consult the library's Subject Guides for African and African American Studies, Education, and Sociology. In addition, researchers are encouraged to contact David Michalski, Social, Cultural and Behavioral Sciences Librarian (firstname.lastname@example.org) to learn more about available print and electronic resources in these areas of study.
Exhibit prepared by the University Library Committee on Diversity. For general questions about the Exhibit please contact Robin Gustafson, Chair, at email@example.com.
