Use of Food, Drink and Tobacco in the Libraries

Food, drinks in unapproved containers, and the use of tobacco in any form are not permitted in library buildings.

Spill-proof, reusable beverage containers are allowed in library buildings.
Reduce trash and help the environment by using a reusable, spill-proof cup for your non-alcoholic beverage while you study in the library.
Coffee House mugs, plastic water bottles and sports bottles are great.

Good containers example

Good Cups

Spill-proof mugs with secure lids
Sports bottles with a drinking spout
Capped plastic water bottles

Bad containers example

Bad Cups

Open cups or mugs
Aluminum cans, glass bottles
Paper or Styrofoam cups with or without lids

"No Fault" policy: report spills immediately.
Recycle: recycling bins are outside library building entrances.
Do not place beverage containers on floors, chairs, copiers, computers, or other equipment. To protect library materials, beverages are not allowed in the shelving areas.
