About the Libraries

The Postdoctoral position at UCD is based in the University's Health and Life Sciences Library as a member of a new e-science team and reporting to the Head of the Health and Life Sciences Library. The Library seeks applications from postdoctoral candidates in the life sciences and health informatics fields for a two-year position working with faculty, graduate students, researchers, and Library staff to develop strategies and programs for the collection, description, organization, normalization, storage, preservation, integration, visualization and mining of data across the spectrum of neuroscience programs on campus. The Library works closely with campus IT departments and other UC Libraries (including the California Digital Library) to support data as a critical part of the research enterprise. The position will bridge the scientific research communities producing and analyzing data, and the Library and IT staff charged with archiving and curating the data. Candidates must have direct experience with conducting research in the health and life sciences and in working with the resulting data, either in an informatics capacity or to manage data for a research center or program.
