Consortial Resources

Over the past decade the UC libraries, working with the California Digital Library (CDL), have licensed an unparalleled shared collection of electronic journals, books, databases, audio files and visual images accessible to all UC faculty, staff and students. The UC Davis community have benefitted greatly from this wealth of materials accessible on campus or remotely. For titles funded consortially, cancellation must be agreed upon by all UC campuses.

It is important to note that the UC Davis cost share for a UC consortial resource is dependent on the business and licensing terms negotiated by the CDL. The UC chief collection development officers and the CDL staff work together to craft cost shares. Payment due dates and contract/license renewal dates vary by resource. Thus, there is not a single model for determining cost shares.

For locally funded resources, content in every format is undergoing review. Each title or resource selected by department heads and subject librarians will benefit from your input.

Resources Under Consideration for Addition

When the University Library undertakes a trial of an electronic product, the UC Davis campus community is invited to participate in the short term access and provide us with feedback. In the future, you will be able to submit your responses about these products on trial through this web site.
