Web Based Email
Checking email via a web browser can be very convenient when you are travelling. The library provides Zimbra, which you should use to read your departmental mail. If you have not migrated to the library server for your primary email account, you must use the legacy campus Geckomail system.
Your Kerberos login and password may not match your library login and password. If you do not know your Kerberos password, please visit Computing Accounts. The Systems Dept. can not look up or change your Kerberos password for you.
After logging in to DistAuth you will be asked to login to your mail server. To check your library mail please use your library user name followed by "@mail.lib.ucdavis.edu".
After you've logged in, if your email folders are missing, click "Configure" and go to "Enter the directory where your email folders are kept." The default directory is set as mail/. Simply clear this field so it is blank, then accept this change and return to the main Geckomail page.
