Changing Your Password
How do I change my Windows password?
In Windows 2000 or XP, press and hold the Control and Alt keys, and press the Delete key. This will bring up the Windows Security dialog, containg six buttons.
Click on "Change Password..."
In the Old Password field, enter your current password, and in both the New Password and Confirm New Password field, type your desired new password. Your password must be at least 8 characters and must have at least one of the following:
- an uppercase character,
- a lowercase character,
- a digit
- a special character
If you have trouble coming up with a new password you can ask the mail system to suggest one by logging in to the mail server and typing "mkpasswd".
Click "OK" to finish.
If you receive an error message "The passwords you typed do not match. Type the new password in both text boxes", ensure that you typed your new password in both the New and Confirm New Password fields, and ensure they you did not make a typo in either field.
