Automatic Transfer Databases for EndNote Web

  • In the instructions below Direct Export refers to the direct transmission of records from a database to the EndNote library. Filter Import refers to a two-step process involving the saving of records to the computer desktop and choosing a filter in EndNote to import the records.

Academic Search Complete (EBSCO)

Firefox (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records. (Add to folder)
  2. In Folder View, select records and click icon to export.
  3. Click radio button for Direct Export to EndNote Web and click Save.
  4. Records will transfer to EndNote Web library.
IE (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records. (Add to folder)
  2. In Folder View, select records and click icon to export.
  3. Click radio button for Direct Export to EndNote Web and click Save
  4. Follow automatic prompt to login to EndNote Web and records will transfer.

America History and Life (ABC-Clio)

Firefox (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records. (Add to folder)
  2. In Folder View, select records and click icon to export.
  3. Click radio button for Direct Export to EndNote Web and click Save.
  4. Records will transfer to EndNote Web library.
IE (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records. (Add to folder)
  2. In Folder View, select records and click icon to export.
  3. Click radio button for Direct Export to EndNote Web and click Save
  4. Follow automatic prompt to login to EndNote Web and records will transfer.

Anthropology Plus (OCLC)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click radio button for Export to EndNote and click Export.
  3. In window that opens, save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web go to Collect tab, select downloaded document.
  5. Choose filter Anthropology Plus (OCLC).
  6. Select group and click Import.

ArticleFirst (OCLC)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Export icon.
  3. Click radio button for Export to EndNote and click Export.
  4. On window that comes up click Save to save records file to desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, go to Collect tab, select downloaded document.
  6. Choose filter ArticleFirst (OCLC).
  7. Select group and click Import.

Arts and Humanities Citation (ISI)

Firefox (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save to EndNote Web.
  3. Records will transfer.
IE (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save to EndNote Web.
  3. Follow prompt to sign in to EndNote Web.
  4. Records will transfer.

BIOSIS (ISI)

Firefox (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save to EndNote Web.
  3. Records will transfer.
IE (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save to EndNote Web.
  3. Follow prompt to sign in to EndNote Web.
  4. Records will transfer.

CAB Abstracts (OvidSP)

Firefox (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click radio button for Direct Export and click Save.
  3. Click radio button for Export results to EndNote, ProCite or Reference Manager and click Continue.
  4. In window that appears, save file to desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, go to the Collect tab.
  6. Select downloaded file, CAB Abstracts (OvidSP) filter, and library to save to.
  7. Click Import and records will transfer.

Conference Papers Index (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter Conference Papers Index (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter Environmental Sci (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

EiCompendex*Plus (Engineering Village 2)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Download.
  3. In window that launches, click Save and save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, go to Collect tab.
  5. Click Import References link.
  6. Choose downloaded records.
  7. Choose filter Ei Compendex (Ei).
  8. Select library to transfer references to.
  9. Click Import.

EIS: Digests of Environmental Impact Statements (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter EIS (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

ERIC (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter ERIC (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

  1. Mark records.
  2. Click radio button for Direct Export and click Save.
  3. Click radio button for Export results to EndNote, ProCite or Reference Manager and click Continue.
  4. In window that appears, save file to desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, go to the Collect tab.
  6. Select downloaded file, INSPEC (OvidSP) filter, and library to save to.
  7. Click Import and records will transfer.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (CSA)

  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter LLBA (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

MLA (CSA)

  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.

  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter MLA Intl. Bib. (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

National Technical Information Service (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter NTIS (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

Oceanic Abstracts (CSA)

  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter Oceanic Abs (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

PAIS (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter PAIS International (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

PapersFirst (OCLC)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click radio button for Export to EndNote and click Export.
  3. In window that opens, save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web go to Collect tab, select downloaded document.
  5. Choose filter PapersFirst (OCLC).
  6. Select group and click Import.

Philosopher's Index (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter Philosopher's Index (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

Proceedings (OCLC)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click radio button for Export to EndNote and click Export.
  3. In window that opens, save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web go to Collect tab, select downloaded document.
  5. Choose filter Proceedings (OCLC).
  6. Select group and click Import.

ProQuest

Firefox (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Export link.
  3. Click radio button for Export directly to ProCite, EndNote, Reference Manager.
  4. In window that appears, click Save to download records file to desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, go to Collect tab, select downloaded document.
  6. Choose filter ProQuest.
  7. Select group and click Import.
IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Exportlink.
  3. Click radio button for Download in a format compatible with ProCite, EndNote, and RefWorks.
  4. Save tagged record that appears as a text file (.txt) to your desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, go to Collect tab, select downloaded document.
  6. Choose filter ProQuest.
  7. Select group and click Import.

PsycINFO (CSA)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Save, Print, Email.
  3. Click appropriate radio buttons for records and computer and click Save to save records to desktop.
  4. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  5. Select downloaded records, select filter PsycINFO (CSA) and library and click Import to transfer records.

PubMed (NLM)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. In window labeled Summary click MEDLINE.
  3. In window labeled Send to choose Text.
  4. Save records to desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, go to Collect tab.
  6. Select downloaded records file.
  7. Select filter PubMed (NLM).
  8. Select library and click Import to transfer records.

Reader's Guide Retrospective (Wilson)

Firefox/IE (Filter Import)
  1. Mark records.
  2. Click Exporting/Citing tab.
  3. Click radio buttons for records to export and The EndNote Filter.
  4. Click Export to save records to desktop.
  5. In EndNote Web, click Collect tab.
  6. Select downloaded records file.
  7. Select Wilson Web filter.
  8. Select library and click Import to transfer records.

RILM (EBSCO)

Firefox (Direct Export)
  1. Mark records. (Add to folder)
  2. In Folder View, select records and click icon to export.
  3. Click radio button for Direct Export to EndNote Web and click Save.
  4. Records will transfer to EndNote Web library.
