Shakespeare: A Library Call Number Browsing Guide

When searching for works written by Shakespeare or criticism about his plays and poems, it is important to use the library catalog [http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/ul/research/] to find the exact location of books. The catalog will also tell you if a book is checked out and help you find books located at the Reserves desk or in the Humanities, Social Sciences & Government Information Services Reference collection. To search the contents of journals for articles, use an electronic database like the MLA International Bibliography from the Literatures in English subject guide [/ul/research/subjects/?heading=6].

If you would like to browse books in the library written by or about Shakespeare, this guide lists the library call number ranges for some of the basic categories of plays and criticism.

These books are located on the 4th floor of Shields Library in the "PR" section of the book stacks (see map[http://www.lib.ucdavis.edu/ul/about/locations/]).
