The information on this page offers a variety of databases and other useful links to researchers affiliated with the University of California. If you need help and you are a UC Davis affiliate, please use our HouseCalls program and a librarian will come to your office or lab and give you individualized instruction. Beyond PubMed
The following databases contain a wealth of medical information from journals, conference proceedings, technical reports and other sources that are NOT included in PubMed.
- BIOSIS
- A comprehensive index to all of research biology, including conference literature.
- Chemical Abstracts
- The databases include chemistry research, the comprehensive registry of chemical substances, and the reactions database. You need SciFinder Scholar software to use the databases.
- Cochrane Library
- A constantly updated database of systematic reviews of medical research.
- Compendex Plus
- Covers the core literature of the engineering field.
- INSPEC
- Covers journals, conference proceedings, books, reports, and dissertations in physics, bioengineering and related topics.
- National Technical Information Service
- The central source for U.S. Government-sponsored research, development, and engineering reports.
- Statistical Universe
- Indexes and abstracts federal government statistical publications, links to selected government statistics on the web.
- TOXNET
- A cluster of databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, and related areas.
- Web of Science
- Covers the journal literature of the sciences. Can search for articles that cite a known author or work.
