Accelerated Merit and Promotion Recommendations for Librarians

Merit and promotion acceleration recommendations must indicate what is expected for normal advancement and also explain how the candidate's record justifies the requested acceleration - e.g. were there special/outstanding accomplishments, awards, prizes, or clear documentation that the work output in one or two years fulfilled expectations for a three-year output or that output for a normal review of two or three years was of such a substantial nature that it justifies a two step increase? It is incumbent on the person requesting the recommendation to make a clear case for the exceptional circumstances that justify the requested acceleration.

Clearly stating the reasons for the acceleration per the guidance above in the body of the review is expected as is a summary of the reasons for the acceleration in the Summary Statement.
